Morocco can play key role in solving Mideast conflict: Obama

The Peninsula, (5/7/2009) Rabat: US President Barack Obama voiced hope Morocco can play a leading role in bringing Arabs and Israelis together in order to solve the conflict in the Middle East. “I hope Morocco will be a leader in bridging gaps between Israel and the Arab world,” said Obama in a message sent to King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Moroccan News Agency Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) reported. He said the King, as chairman of the Al Quds Committee, can contribute to constructive collaboration among the committee members to achieve “a comprehensive peace that includes a two-state solution and an early resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict.” The US President also hailed the personal dedication of King Mohammed VI in improving interfaith and cross-cultural dialogue...
